Zvonarka Central Bus Station lighting design case sharing
The re-design of brno's Zvonarka Central bus station, initiated by the architects in 2011, rediscovers the original brutalist character of the site and reflects CHYBIK + KRISTOF's long-standing practice in preserving the architectural heritage.
rediscovers the original brutalist character of the site and reflects CHYBIK + KRISTOF's long-standing practice in preserving the architectural heritage. The station plays a central role in brno's urban social fabric.
The bus stop lighting is designed in pure white tones, while the steel load-bearing frame and concrete roof provide a rigid appearance. Keep the whole white, to create a certain aesthetic. When entering the interior of the station, it is illuminated by lights. The design of pure colors conveys an aesthetic impression and keeps the light feeling beautiful.
The light fixture is set on the steel frame, casting light down to illuminate the interior space evenly. By setting a white light source, it creates an open and bright overall atmosphere. The interior of the station is radiant, adding a degree of luster and beauty.
Down lights are installed on the ceiling of the ticket & waiting area, and the light is projected down to create a bright space, enriching the layering of light in the space, creating a warm and soft atmosphere, and making passengers feel comfortable.
The lighting endows the architectural structure with a sense of vitality at night, meets the functional needs, and at the same time conveys the texture and temperature of the lighting from inside to outside, providing passers-by with a sense of direction and security.
