BSR/IES LS-1-2x Lighting Science: Nomenclature and Definitions for Illuminating Engineering
This document clarifies and standardizes the nomenclature used in the lighting industry.
Revisions include definitions for Longitudinal and Transverse light distribution and roadway lines, changing “lamp” to “light source”, and terms and definitions related to temporal light modulation. -
BSR/IES RP-11-2x Lighting for Interior and Exterior Residential Environments
Lighting design objectives, criteria for quantity and quality of illuminance, lighting methods, types and uses of equipment, energy use, and electrical code considerations for residential lighting. Various solutions that address residential lighting problems are also presented.
This revision removes content about legacy light sources, additional content regarding exterior lighting environmental concerns, updated luminaire images, new content about visual glare, UV from LEDs and fading, technical guidance for LEDs and dimmers, new design strategies for integrated lighting, use of Power Over Ethernet (POE), sustainability goals, color tuning, halls, home offices, bedrooms, closets, home gyms, home pools, artworks, light & health, UV germicidal uses, addition of Lighting Zones.
